When cornered, any animal gets nervous and defensive. Some get scared and look for a way to escape. Others visibly show us that they are ready to fight.
This mountain lion is slightly different. His face is calm and smooth. Watching every bit of movement to see if you are a threat. His eyes maintain your gaze, but his body is priming to strike. His back legs coiling up much like a rattlesnake.
As this mountain lion’s face is still, his body is ready to make you a quick kill. If he was able to speak there would only be these few words, “It’s your move”.
